The Friends of the London Public Library offers interesting volunteer opportunities working in our Book Store and during the huge Annual Book Sale held each October.
The Friends Book Store, located in the Central Library, Citi Plaza Mall, is open Monday through Saturday. Volunteers work one or more two and a half hour shifts. Volunteering at the Book Store provides an opportunity to socialize as many customers come to the Store same day each week. It also provides the chance to make new friendships with the volunteers on your shift. We offer discounts up to 50% on our already bargain prices for books, music CDs, DVD movies, games and puzzles. Most importantly you will be supporting your vibrant Public Library as sales from the Book Store are donated to the Library.
COVID-19 restrictions have kept the Book Store closed but with the roll-out of vaccines we will soon be re-opening and we will need new volunteers to join. For your safety and the safety of co-volunteers and customers, Store volunteers must be COVID vaccinated.
Please visit this webpage after May 30, 2021 when we expect to have further information on our re-opening and recruitment of new volunteers.
Volunteer opportunities are also available during the Friends huge Annual Book Sale. This three-day event offers thousands of books, music CDs and movies, up to two transport trucks of material at rock bottom prices. Volunteers work one or more three-hour shifts helping to set up the sale and keep the tables stocked. As a reward, volunteers are invited to attend Preview Night, where they get first crack at browsing and buying sale material. How to Register? Check back early September when Volunteer openings are posted.
A big THANK YOU to our volunteers, past and present…
