Friends of the London Public Library invite you to an afternoon with London author Jim Freedman. Date: May 24, 2025 Time: 02:00 pm – 04:00 pm Location: Central Library 3rd Floor.
Jim will read from and discuss his new book “Carpet of Tears“, a collection of “non-fiction stories” gathered while working in conflict areas around the world. Jim details the struggles and fates of the people he met with understanding and compassion. Reception, book sale and signing to follow. This is a free event although donations are accepted at the door to support children and youth literacy programs at the London Public Library.
Friends of the London Public Library hosts Speaking With Friends at venues adjacent to the London Central Public Library in Citi Plaza for our fundraising Lectures on Literature and Literacy series. Authors reading and speaking at the event over the years have included Emma Donoghue, Peter Robinson, Maureen Jennings, Eleanor Wachtel and Bill Richardson. A reception, book sale and signing are also part of the evening. Admission to Speaking With Friends is free although donations are accepted to support Library programs.
